-I-

A girl picking flowers on the meadows stumbled upon a most peculiar door and with certain eager knocked twice in search of it's secret lore.

A soft voice replied warning the girl to leave, for what exist beyond this door she should not see. The girl annoyed twisted the knob, and got angry when she found the door was locked.

She insisted - let me in! I pale at this wondrous door! Oh, magical voice tell me what are thee and what lies beyond?

A Unicorn my darling and this world too fragile is, all will perish if I let you in. The door you stand upon, your eyes should not see, this door once open can not be fasten and all that here lies will forever halt to happen.

A Unicorn!? Fancy me! What a wonderful find! Call the price to make us friends! I'll pay with my life if thee so request! My name is Aurora! I'll promise to be gentle as a wind caress.

Your heart understand not all that for you is unknown. Doubt not that your good intentions will me harm. Be conform knowing creatures as me do exist and call me friend whenever you feel the need.

Aurora yelled - You call for a price too steep, for I can give you anything but my leave. I command you! Open this door for me! For I feel what lies beyond will make me whole! My body carries empty without a soul and as much as I seek love is nowhere to be found. I’ve been taken, some by will and some by force. I've learn deceive like no trust can hold and no words in this world can show me love. I know nothing but pain and remorse. Take me in I beg you! I can leave you not! I can leave not this door! Kill me if thee wishes so but my foot will move not!

Oh! Poor soul, what you seek is reborn for what lies in my world will not make you whole. You will learn nothing but burden and regret. But I must abide for the highest price, nothing grater than life, an excellent sacrifice.

The sound of a click announced the door remained locked no more and the girl stood silent for a moment or so. Hand shaking with fear for the hidden she swallowed hard and decided to go. A gentle twist on the knob shattered the door with violent force and before her eyes she saw the impossible, the magical and the unknown.

-II-

A creature stood before her and her eyes widen open in awe. A scary spike showed from the head of the beast in the shape of a horse. Such beauty no eyes have seen before and inspired fear beyond mortal known. Eyes deep as constellations over a pearlescent hide invited the touch upon such divine find, but no mortal would dare to blink in presence of such fiend, something amiss was felt but not understood and she despaired in confusion for what was not known. Aurora though - Is this a demon or a Unicorn? But the door was no more and there was no return, what was done was done, and that with no doubt she knows.

She saw a sky painted with colors unknown that from no source shone from above. Waterfalls that risen but not fallen, flowers dancing with no wind and earth that glittered like gold. A place of dreams! Aurora whispered - I am home. But little she knew for the things to come.

The Unicorn in a gallant step came closer and admired Aurora with certain indifference. Aurora locked her eyes on his and breathed out calmly as she felt on her shoulders the weight of the universe. A moment ago she had shivers on her spine, and a moment then, she comprehended love like the palm of her hand. A radiant aura glowed from her skin as a star glow from the firmament and she felt as her soul trilled with freedom and true love. A moment of magnanimous glory! An instant of the outmost sublime spark! An absolute moment of peace where no chores abode. Lighten as a feather her soul lofted and inexplicably reached even the most distant dreams. A limitless realm opened for her eyes and all unknown to her was now known to her very heart. For her this world was her true home, like she has always dreamed.

With his spiked horn the Unicorn stabbed Aurora on her chest and with gracious motion he pulled away. Fear not for this wound will not harm you but set you free, for you to exist in this world a creature like me you must come to be. For no mortals can exist on this world and you are still to understand the things to come.

Thank you sir Unicorn for taking me in for I promise not to fail you for I remember owing my life to thee. I knew this place was to be called home! I was certain I was to be made whole! Thru you ayes I measured the distance of comets and saw constellations hidden to others. Thru your eyes I understood the meaning of love and my very soul floated aloft! It is because of you I feel so alive and I can breath out wild. Sadness fled scared from my heart and now that I know love, I finally understand this magic I feel has been always within my heart. From my bounds I’ve been reborn free and all because you exist inside me.

Now that you know true love is time for me to go. Raised his head the Unicorn did pointing with his nose a pale blink on the starry sky. His eyes closed slowly and his pearlescent hide turned white. His bright colors where gone and the depth of his eyes went hollow.

Aurora was confused and felt guilt heavy as the weight of gold and she knew terror ripping her very soul.

Aurora cried - Sir Unicorn! You are fading! You are dying! You cant leave me! Is because of you I exist anew!

The burden of your shackles now torment me. For I lost the meaning of love when I made you whole. Death will certainly find me. But despair not my loved Aurora for you offered your life. My soul will leave thee here and go yonder for I have to leave behind the sadness you brought into my life. I will return my dear, back I will be. Will take me an eternity or so, but make no doubt that returned I will be.

No! No No! Aurora yelled from her broken heart. Tears dense as rivers flowed from her eyes. Tell me your name at least before you depart for me to know for whom ill be waiting on this wondrous land.

The Unicorn spoke his name and Aurora heard words she could understand but not repeat. And a moment then, the Unicorn was dead.

Aurora took a bow in respect. The Unicorn was right, nothing will I learn but burden and regret. For me, how to continue in this world of dreams without him? For I have everything I ever wanted but not the only thing I need.

Aurora sat on a rock near a shore and wept her sadness away and she continued crying for time to come when no one even remembered her name.

Long time after - Legends were told of a certain girl and a certain door. A tale of myths for the local lore. Be aware of the wondrous door, they says, it has the power to swallow you whole. A boy knowing the tale ignored the warning and searched for the door for he knew this door will take him home. He went looking the stars on the meadows when stumbled upon a most peculiar door and with certain eager knocked twice in search of it's secret lore.

A commanding voice replayed - Speak thy name! Is this you for whom I wait?

The boy saddened for he didn’t knew the answer but let go and like a poem he recited - All I know is birth from the dream of a long lost creature. For time I searched for what will make me whole and now that I find you I inexplicably know. But I don’t know if I am the one for whom you waited so long for the little my hearth comprehend is no doubt all I know.

With anger the voice replayed - If thee do not know then I beg you to be gone!

Prepared to fight the boy gently placed his hands on the wooden door and upon his touch the door resonated and vibrated with the weight of a pounding horse. Sparks from magical nature came from the door and the boy understood the impossible, the magical and the unknown. The meadows turned black and white and from above a pale blink on the starry sky shone radiant with colors no one ever seen before. The wind ceased and the sounds of the night receded and all stood silent without motion. The hands of the boy carved the door like hot iron in the shape of hooves and the door trembled with impetuous force awaiting for the only word that would unlock the return of this soul to his true home.

Aurora - he whispered.

Aurora! - He cried!

The door shattered in a thousand pieces with incredible force and the light from a thousand suns emerged from this place unknown. The starry sky and meadows were no more, the search was over, that he knows. He returned home. The Unicorn has returned free from the burdens of his true love. Proud of his colors he showed himself galore hesitant to the moment he return to his true love.
